Lynn later worked as a recording engineer in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Memphis with a number songwriters and artists including Clarence Carter, Johnny Paycheck, The Forester Sisters, and The Kendalls while attending The University Of North Alabama.
After graduating in 1985, Lynn relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where he began his publishing career in the tape copy room at The Welk Music Group in 1986. After PolyGram Music Publishing acquired Welk in 1988, Lynn climbed the ranks to Creative Director and then Sr. Creative Director and served through the merger with MCA/Universal Music in 1999. Throughout his time with Welk/PolyGram/Universal, Lynn worked closely with many hit songwriters including Bob McDill, Dickey Lee, Gordon Kennedy, Kostas and Angelo. He joined Cal IV Entertainment as VP Creative in 2000 and has remained a key part of Spirit’s catalog growth and success.
Lynn has placed hit songs with many artists including Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Kenny Rogers and Wynonna. Lynn is a member of the ACM, the CMA, Leadership Music, and the Recording Academy.
