As an artist, Paul charted with "Happy Go Lucky Me" (#10, 1960) and "Midnite Special" (#16, 1960), both of which also hit the upper reaches of the country charts.

Paul has also written songs for such classic voices as Jackie Wilson, Frankie Lymon, Lulu, Fabian, Johnny Tillotson, Jimmy Dean, and The Statler Brothers.

He is still an active songwriter and is excited to be doing his first comprehensive publishing deal with Spirit.
