Allan Rich
Allan Rich is an acclaimed lyricist who helped define pop song craft in the 80’s and 90’s penning covers for Tina Turner, Barbra Streisand, Chaka Khan, Barry Manilow, Dolly Parton and Ray Charles. His prolific song collection spans two decades and contains a long list of Pop, Soul and Adult Contemporary hits including the chart-topping James Ingram smash “I Don’t Have The Heart”, Natalie Cole’s “I Live For Your Love” and Gladys Knight’s “Love Overboard” and “Lovin’ On Next To Nothin”. Allan, a two time Academy Award-nominee, also wrote “Run To You”, performed by Whitney Houston for the soundtrack to “The Bodyguard” and “For The First Time”, the Kenny Loggins hit from 1997’s George Clooney/Michelle Pfeiffer starrer “One Fine Day”. Recent cuts for the prolific LA based writer include “If I Have To Wait” for Toni Braxton’s latest Atlantic CD and “The Truth Is” for the major label debut of young David Foster protégé Charice – both written with long time collaborator Jud Friedman.
