D/R Period
With total album sales exceeding fifteen million worldwide, D/R Period, a Brooklyn native, has written and produced tracks for such high profile pop, hip-hop, and rap artists as DMX, Onyx, Foxy Brown, Queen Latifah, and MOP, including the latter group’s anthem, “Ante Up.” D/R also produced the Public Enemy soundtrack to Spike Lee’s ‘He Got Game’ and has had music in dozens of feature films, including ‘Empire,’ ‘State Property,’ and ‘Bringing Down The House,’ for which he contributed the soundtrack single.
In 2002, D/R stepped further into the limelight, writing the Cam’Ron single, “Hey Ma,” which was a Top 5 Pop smash. He broke internationally in recent years thanks to Spirit’s introduction to a list of high profile global artists, including the UK’s Estelle (V2) and Javine (Virgin), Germany’s Afrob & Sammy Deluxe (EMI), and Japan’s AI (Universal), all of whom have released singles written and produced by D/R.
Most recently, Spirit placed D/R’s “Wat’s Ya Problem” in the DeNiro/Pacino feature, ‘Righteous Kill,’ and then landed the artist/producer an acting role as well.
