Brent Anderson has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Spirit Music Nashville/Fluid Music Revolution.
Since moving to Nashville in 2005, Anderson has written songs recorded by artists such as Brad Paisley, Dustin Lynch, Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell, Sheryl Crow, Jackie Lee, Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Phelps, and Scotty McCreery, amongst others. Anderson co-wrote “Lonely Tonight” with Ryan Hurd, recorded by Blake Shelton and featuring Pistol Annies member Ashley Monroe. The song hit #1 on Country Airplay charts, marking Shelton’s fourteenth consecutive #1 on that chart and the song also garnered a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Anderson also co-produced Chris Janson’s album Buy Me a Boat and the 2017 single “Fix a Drink” (these songs also feature Anderson on background vocals and acoustic guitar) as well as having produced songs for Jameson Rodgers. In addition to songwriting and producing, Anderson’s vocals and guitar playing have been featured on many artist projects including Jameson Rodgers, Lainey Wilson, and Brad Paisley, to name a few.
Brent Anderson’s new EP, Bloodline, was released in 2022 (Red Balloon Music), and a full length album titled Rearview Tennessee is slated for release in the summer of 2023.
Anderson grew up in Pascagoula, Mississippi and started playing guitar at six years old. By the time he was ten, he was fronting his own three piece band. At seventeen, his gift for songwriting caught the ear of Nashville and he was signed to his first songwriting deal. Anderson later signed with Sea Gayle/Arista Nashville and his debut album was produced by Frank Rogers.
“Working with Frank, and now AJ and the Spirit/Fluid team, is a full circle moment,” said Brent Anderson. “I’m really grateful to join forces with such a talented team of music publishers and excited about what the future will bring.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Brent Anderson to the Spirit/Fluid family!” said Frank Rogers, Chief Creative Officer, Spirit Music Group/CEO, Spirit Music Nashville. “Brent is a world-class songwriter, singer, musician and producer who’s potential is truly limitless. We could not be more excited about partnering with Brent—this is going to be a lot of fun! LET’S GO!!!!!!!!”
“I have been a friend/fan of Brent and his songwriting for some time now,” said AJ Burton, Vice President, Fluid Music Revolution. “Knowing his long history with Frank and after a couple of recent hangs, I knew I wanted him to be a part of Spirit Fluid to help build this next chapter of his career.”
The deal with Anderson follows a time of unprecedented momentum by the Spirit Music Nashville team—over the past twelve months, 70% of Spirit Music Nashville’s current writer roster has had at least one charted single. This includes nine #1 singles, ten Top 10 singles, and 11 Top 30 songs in 2021 as well as ACM Single of the Year “I Hope You’re Happy Now” – Carly Pearce and Lee Brice (via Jonathan Singleton) and Album of the Year Starting Over by Chris Stapleton. The company also publishes Music Row’s Song of the Year, “Hell of a View” – Eric Church (via Monty Criswell). The company received four CMA nominations for Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Musical Event of the Year and took home six ASCAP Country awards. Spirit Music Nashville/Spirit Fluid writer Frank Ray earned the title of being most added song on country radio by a new artist (by impact day) driven by his single “Country Looks Good On You” (the song was also produced by Spirit Music Nashville CEO, Frank Rogers who is a multi-platinum producer/songwriter in his own right with 43 #1 hits, 75+ Top 20 songs and multiple RIAA certified multi-Platinum/Platinum/Gold records to his list of production/songwriting credits). The company also has a publishing interest in the top two country songs of the decade and top two country albums of the decade with “Meant To Be” and “Body Like A Backroad” and Traveller/Chris Stapleton and Montevallo/Sam Hunt.
