Peter Rafelson
Son of film and television producer Bob Rafelson (‘Easy Rider,’ ‘Five Easy Pieces,’ ‘The Monkees’), Peter Rafelson was exposed at a young age to some of Hollywood’s most creative musicians and film makers. His proficiency as a consummate keyboard player and budding producer won him proximity to a good number of rising stars through the 1980s. A friendship with Madonna led him to collaborate on what would become her fifth #1 pop hit, “Open Your Heart.” Another collaboration, with solo Go-Go Jane Wiedlin, led to her Top 10 hit “Rush Hour.” Rafelson also contributed important songs to Stevie Nicks (including the evocative “Some Become Strangers”) as well as such artists as The Pointer Sisters, Sister Sledge, and Stephen Bishop. “Open Your Heart” served as the main title in the Paramount feature, ‘Crossroads.’
