Spirit Music Group, one of the world’s leading global independent music publishing companies, today announced the promotion of Tamar Wax to Vice President, Film & TV Music, Creative. Tamar was previously Senior Director, Film & TV Music for Spirit. Tamar is based in the company’s Los Angeles office and reports directly to Amy Hartman, Senior Vice President, Creative Services.

Tamar Wax is an experienced music executive with over twenty years of experience procuring sync placements and working closely with music supervisors across multiple platforms. Tamar also has film and television studio experience on the music supervision side, overseeing the music used in visual media and serving the vision of producers and directors. This combination of experience gives Tamar a unique understanding of the needs of her Film & TV clients.
At Spirit Music Group, Tamar was instrumental in placing a trailerized remix of Daddy Yankee’s hit “Gasolina” in the Fast X film, trailer and TV spots. She also landed a remix of Billy Squier’s “The Stroke” in the trailer for Amazon’s AIR, a HBO Max brand image campaign, and PGA promo. Other highlights include placing T.Rex’s “20th Century Boy” and “Children of the Revolution” in trailers for Minx season two and the Netflix Rebel Moon trailer, M.O.P.’s “Ante Up (Robbin Hoodz Theory)” in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem trailer, as well as placements in television shows and promos for NBC, ABC, Apple TV, Netflix, Disney+, Starz, and more.
Prior to joining Spirit Music Group in 2019, Tamar served as Vice President, Creative at Vibrant Ground Music, where some of her key projects included trailers for “Star Trek Discovery”, “Animal Kingdom”, Skyscraper (Universal Pictures), Speed Kills (Saban Films), and NBC’s Thursday night primetime programming campaign.
As a consultant for Impact Music, Tamar’s key placements included trailers for Maleficent, John Wick, Walking With Dinosaurs, Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters, Edge of Tomorrow, and Quantum Break.
